As I watched my daughter in her weekly swimming lesson yesterday, I began to wonder if she would ever learn to swim!  We have been going for over a year now and she still won’t put her ears under the water, it’s sooooo frustrating.  A few tentative kicks here and there showed me she was slowing getting the hang of it.  My Mum always says ’she’ll get there in the end’.

As I was reading my Creating Keepsakes magazine whilst she was having lessons I began to think how far my scrapping has developed since I first started in 2004.  My first layouts were literally mounted photographs with embellishments stuck on the page and the name of the subject and date.  Now I am cutting circles, embossing and using lots of different techniques and textures.

If you’ve only just begun to scrap  let your scrapping style develop at its own pace.  I’ve learnt that my style changes from year to year and even from layout to layout.  So relax if you think that your layout isn’t perfect, it has been scrapped and the memory recorded so chill out and enjoy.

I’ve just spent the last few hours up-loading the brand new Scenic Route to the web-site.  It looks fab!  This Christmas they have come up with a range that can be used for lots of other scrapping not just christmas.  So there are lots of stripes and dots as well as some snowflakes and decorations thrown in for good measure.  Here’s a peak at the lovely Garland.

I am having so much fun lately putting together lots of different kits.  Of course, there was the first Scrappy Do’s Mini-Album kit and then the two different Christmas Mini-Album Kits.  Then there is a one off Scenic Route Sonoma kit, which the lovely Cal has worked wonders with and finally I have just finished putting together a mini Halloween Kit.

I love this time of year.  The colour of the trees, pumpkins and the chill in the air.   I always buy a few pumpkins in differing shapes and sizes and put them on my front step - OK, they only last a while before they go all yucky and horribly but they make a lovely Autumn display while they last!

Here are a few photos I took today when I went for a walk, and the layout which I made - I hope you like them!
